Last week, a friend of Anna's spent the night with us.
And for the kids,
night swimming
plus
light - up beach balls
equaled
a lot of fun
had by all!
And while I was sitting on the deck watching them and taking photos,
I once again thought about the week the deck was built
and how much I appreciated watching that process
and how much it meant then and now
to me and to my Luke!
Thank you again, Joe!

A Boy, A Man, and A Project
For a boy without a dad,
the 4 days Luke spent with Joe while building the deck on our pool,
were much more than just learning how to build.
It was also Luke learning how to be a man.
The tools used by Joe to teach Luke how to build a deck were saws, a nail gun, and a level.
The tools used by God to help build Luke's character were Joe's patience, care, teaching, and projecting to Luke that his help was wanted, needed, and most of all, valued.
Thank you, Joe, for your hard work on the deck.
We love it.
