Beneath The Cross

Beneath the cross of Jesus
I fain would take my stand,
the shadow of a mighty rock
within a weary land;
a home within the wilderness,
a rest upon the way,
from the burning of the noontide heat,
and the burden of the day.

Upon that cross of Jesus
mine eye at times can see
the very dying form of One
who suffered there for me;
and from my stricken heart with tears
two wonders I confess:
the wonders of redeeming love
and my unworthiness.

I take, O cross, thy shadow
for my abiding place;
I ask no other sunshine than
the sunshine of his face;
content to let the world go by,
to know no gain nor loss,
my sinful self my only shame,
my glory all the cross.

Just A Thought...

As it should,

life keeps moving forward and progressing

for me individually

and for Rob’s children

– but new ways to miss him do too…

there’s always a new way to miss him…

Wesley's Sermon / Ski Trip Feb. 2016

This is my Wesley.

As a youth officer, he was one of four youth group members to deliver the Sunday morning sermon
at our church's annual ski trip.

I was amazed when I read his first draft
(which actually ended up pretty much being his final draft).

He told me that the sermon seemed like "it just wrote itself."

And then I was equally amazed and so incredibly proud
of the way he delivered his first sermon!

(Sorry for the lack of audio for a few seconds...I guess I had my hand over the microphone!)

This is my Anna.

I am always so very proud of her.
