I am 52 today.
In the days of social distancing...
My sister hosted an online birthday party
with lots of my extended family who "attended" yesterday.
(I'll try to load more photos of that later).
I took Anna a desk for her work at home job last week
so I got to "see" her through her window
as I left the desk in her driveway.
And Wesley, Luke, and I celebrated today
in our home.
It's hard to think that it was a good day
with all the suffering going on with our
world being in the middle of a global pandemic.
But widowhood taught me that there is
always room for more than one emotion.
Simultaneously,
I can grieve for the world and all its pain and suffering
at the same time that I can be grateful
that I'm still alive and made it to 52.
So I am
thankful that I have my children and son-in-law,
thankful that I have my mother,
thankful that I have my extended family,
and
thankful that, today, I am 52.
