Dying To Go On Vacation

Received Rev. Marty Cauley’s book,
Dying To Go On Vacation,
this afternoon.

Finished it tonight.

I cried.

I laughed.

I cried some more.

I wished Rob could have read our friend’s book.
I know he would have liked it because he always liked reading Marty’s blog.

Buy the book.

It’s on Amazon.

And take it from me,
a widow to my Rob’s sudden death very close to 4 years ago,
it’s a hard topic but a good read.

Marty writes it well.

Marty lives it well.

And also, pay close attention to Chapter 21.

Great job to my friend, Rev. Marty Cauley,
who has become the writer he has wanted to be since age 12!

Representatives

My Wesley Robert

and our fellow church member, Allison.

They are off to represent our church

at Project Bountiful
(a renewal and revitalization program in our conference
involving rural churches and communities).

Rob would be proud of his son.

I know I am.

Mack

Reverend Dr. Floyd McCallum died today.

He was my boss when I worked at the counseling center.

He prayed a magnificent prayer over Rob and me on our wedding day.

He was an awesome person.

I learned so much from him.

I’ll probably have many more words to say as the week goes on.

But right now, all I know to say

is that another one of the anchors of my life has been released

and,

even though I know he is rejoicing being with our Lord and with his Verona

I will miss knowing he is on this earth.

And knowing he's "got my back" in prayer.

I love you, Mack.

Thank you for being you.

I think I miss you the most

on their birthdays.

The Cake I Made

Anna's official birthday cake.

The strawberry one that she loves!

September 3rd Continued

For her 19th birthday dinner,

Anna wanted sushi.

She says it's delicious!

While we were there, Anna got her
birthday call from her big sister, Crystol.

We had fun celebrating my girl!

She's 19!

My Anna Babe is 19 today!

We've done a little celebrating,
with a little bit more to go.

Happy Birthday, my Anna girl!

Since the very first moment I knew you were in my womb,
the awareness of your existence lived in my every thought.

When I felt you move inside of me for the very first time,
the tangible (to me) evidence of your growing enough
for me to feel from the inside out
moved me to a level of joy I'd never known before.

When I saw your little face for the very first time,
I realized that I had never really known beauty until that moment.

As you were born not breathing,
the very first moment that I did hear you
finally take your very first feeble breath,
you forever,
from that point on,
captured
my
every breath.

On this birthday of yours,
as I think about you from your beginning until now
and having watched you navigate the waters of your first 19 years,
I want you to know that
you,
my Anna girl,
STILL
captivate me!

I love you!
Always have, always will!

Happy Birthday!

Love, Mama
